Short, because the service is free and the obligations are few.

What it costs

Nothing, at any number of products. There is no plan to upgrade to and no price per code. Onpack is paid for by aggregate scan data, described in the privacy page.

What you need

A GS1 company prefix that is genuinely yours. Onpack can only check that you control a domain, not that GS1 licensed a prefix to you, so publishing under a prefix you do not hold is your responsibility and grounds for us to remove the account.

What is promised

The resolver is conformant with the GS1-Conformant Resolver standard and is tested against GS1's published test suite. It runs on Cloudflare's network. No uptime figure is guaranteed, and the service is provided as it is, without warranty.

What you keep

Your GTINs and your GS1 membership stay yours. Your configuration exports as JSON and your codes are ordinary web addresses, so moving to another resolver is a DNS change rather than a packaging reprint. Nothing here locks a printed pack to Onpack.

What we may remove

Codes that point to malware or fraud, accounts publishing under prefixes belonging to someone else, and automated use heavy enough to degrade the service for others. Where practical we will write to the address on the account first.

Changing these terms

If they change in a way that affects existing users, the change will be noted here with a date before it takes effect.
